A Preacher’s Misconception
Topic: The Begining post
Sub-Topic: Believing in God
These days are the days of destruction and tribulation for all. Even though we are going through these things, we want our leaders to lead us in the right direction. Many preachers know these are the last days but have yet to give their people the correct knowledge and understanding of what you must do in order to be saved. Right now I want to take some time out to answer a question that most people are confused on. The question is, “If I am a good person will I be able to make it into heaven? Many preachers often tell their church this. The misunderstanding is this, you can be a good person all you want to but that does not qualify you to make it into heaven.
So, what must you do to make it in, well let’s take a look at scripture?
John 10:1 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
In other words, this scripture is saying that there is but only one way that you can make it in and that is through the door. If you are trying to make it into heaven through your own thoughts and ways then you are wrong. What is the door? The door is opened to you through baptism and receiving the son of man as your personal Saviour. This does not mean by just saying that you believe in God but by being baptized in the holy spirit and renewing your mind.
Romans 12:1-2 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
There are too many people these days who think it’s okay to do things like lying, stealing, adultery, fornication, sex outside of marriage, and etc. but still think they are saved. Don’t get me wrong on this part, just because you sin does not mean that you are not saved. I will explain that part later. This may be enough explanation for now. This teaching will continue soon, so be ready for it, but until then be safe and be blessed, everyone.
