In the name of the almighty name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

Tonight is a continuation of learning about sin. We may have about 1 or 2 more weeks left talking about sin so be prepared. Alright, so tonight we are going to learn about gods grace. Not many people especially those who believe in Christ Jesus know its significance. I will start tonight off by teaching about the difference between two things, the law, and grace.

The Law- In the Old Testament we were under the law. The law was absolute but was flawed. It was absolute because if you even break one law then you would be punished. Ex. Adultery, Stoned to Death. The law was very strict and was not built on saving people, it’s either you obeyed the law or you get severe punishment. The law was not perfect because under the law no one would survive. Remember we are born into sin it’s by nature since Adam and Eve ate from the tree of life and obtained the knowledge of right and wrong.

God’s Grace- This is where things get exciting. God’s Grace is the manifestation of the covering of the debt that was paid for the remission of sins. In other words, God sent his ONLY son to die on the cross just for YOU. Can you imagine anyone in your family or friends dying on the cross to atone for your sins? I couldn’t, but God did this because he loved mankind and if he did not do this then we would not be here today. It’s because of his grace that our sins are covered.

Now that we know what the difference between the law and god’s grace, let us take a look at scripture for tonight. Romans 6:1 Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? This is a wonderful question since God is a forgiving and a merciful God then should we just sin, in other words, because God would forgive us then is it okay to sin anyway? Let us take a look at the answer in scripture. Romans 6:2 Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? This is easy to understand it is saying that just because god is a forgiving god does not mean that we should continue sinning and it points out why? The scripture says because we have died to sin, so how can we continue to live in it. I believe I spoke to you about baptism. When we are baptized then we are allowing ourselves, our sins to be washed away to show that our former way of thinking and actions have passed away to become like Christ. To sum what I mean by this lets take a look at one more scripture Romans 6:3-11, 3 Or aren’t you aware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 We, therefore, were buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life.

For if we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be raised to life as He was. We know that our old self was crucified with Him so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. 7 For anyone who has died has been freed from sin.

8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with Him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, He cannot die again; death no longer has dominion over Him. 10 The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. 11 So you too must count yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

I will wrap up tonight’s message with this point, If it wasn’t for the grace of God then where would we be? We as members in Christ need to stand up and separate ourselves from the world. We are made new in the newness of Christ Jesus. We must live our life to Christ not man and to not let sin reign in our mortal bodies. I hope you got something from this message. Be sure to read next weeks message it’s going to be a good one. Be Blessed and Be Safe, everyone.
