A Preacher’s Misconception
Part 17

Topic: What is a real man?

Sub-Topic: What a real man looks like[3]

Tonight we will be going even further into what a godly man is. I know just from this there could be a lot of questions but remember, whatever question it maybe, we are answering these questions in a spiritual manner and not that of man. In other words, expect an answer that is spiritual not by what you think you may know in your mind. A lot of times we can get caught up in the mindset of answering questions in the context of our experiences and what we think is correct but the word of God always show differently and in a new light that is always correct rather than ourselves, and from a spiritual perspective because it is the correct way to answer since we are spiritual beings. I will be explaining the concept of what I mean by being spiritual beings in the future.

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

Without further ado lets take a look at scripture for tonight, if you do not have your bibles then I suggest you follow along with me, remember you have to read it for yourself and not by me. I am telling you 100% truth but you have to know these things for yourself.

Titus 3:1-11 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. 3 For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another. 4 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of works are done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. 8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. 9 But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. 10 As for a person who stirs up a division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

Now I have said before that we all have a past and God knows that. What I want you to understand is that when you come to Christ you are not defined by your past. Your past becomes your past and with that, we must leave it behind us. We have to leave our past behind us because we are starting a new life with Christ. A man of God will go by the word of God and not by their own foolish thoughts and ways. I have said this before so we have to ask the question, what is a godly man? A godly man is simply what we spoke about last week and that is a man who seeks righteousness. You cannot seek righteousness by your own thoughts and ways. We have to fully submit ourselves to Christ no matter what. That means if you are in sin according to his word then you know to get out of it.Titus 3:1-2 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2 to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people. There are many people who do not know how to be gentle, or not speak evil of no one, avoiding conflict, or even show courtesy towards anyone. It’s a shame but we need to learn how because these are character traits that we all should have. I do want to take a minute to go off script here and talk about why it is wrong to pay attention to other people sin to justify your own. Understand that you can become self-condemned and that is because your mind becomes wrapped around sinful ways. You have to understand that what someone else do is not anything to do with you. You have your own salvation to work out. I think there are too many people that are focused on what other people do instead of finding the truth for yourself and abiding by it no matter what others may do. Getting back to the topic here, we have to understand that in this scripture it says to be obedient and to be ready for every good work. So how can you be ready for every good work if your mind is focused on #1 Yourself, #2 Others, & #3 The World.? If you believe in Christ then you will seek to be submissive and obedient to every good work, which is according to his word. I tell you this and it is not by my own words but by the word of God that you believe in, you cannot be saved if you are not submissive and obedient to every good work according to his word. That means if someone tells you that you are straying away and need to get out of sin and your response is something of the world then you know where your heart lies and its not with Christ. Because the verse below says we to have nothing to do with the darkness since God is light. We are to walk in the light 100% not having anything to do with the darkness and the way we know that we in darkness is if we do not line up with the word of God.

1 John 1:5-7
5 This is the message we have heard from him and declares to you: God is light; in him, there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

What! What!! What did that verse just say? Didn’t it just say that the precious blood of Jesus purifies us from all sin! I thought we have to sin every day even if it was a little, but nope the word says we can get rid of sin by the blood of Jesus. Isn’t that awesome to know. Remember this expect a post on the blood of Jesus because it is so important and I will tell you why.

For now please take heed to this message, in my opinion, it is a very powerful message. Comment below and leave a like if you are enjoying these teachings. Until next time Be Safe and Be Blessed everyone.
