A Preacher’s Misconception
Part 20

Topic: Q&A

Tonight we are continuing on answering the last four questions from Part 18. It is important to know how to evaluate your life with Christ whether your walk with Christ is genuine or if it is false. Do not be deceived and remember the bible says to not add to or take away from his word. God’s word is his word its either you obey it all or you don’t obey him at all.

Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.

-If I go to church every now and then, would I be saved?
No. You would not be saved, however, there are many people these days who think going to church for only religious purposes is fine with God. In God’s word, it says that we are to assemble ourselves in the house of God. Now it is not right to think that you are saved by going every now and then. Let us take a look at this scripture. Psalm 111:1 “Praise the Lord! I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart, In the company of the upright and in the assembly.” Hebrews 10:25, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching”. there are other scriptures in the Bible to that also say the same thing which really shows just how important being in the house of God is. You cannot put other things ahead of God. Not family, friends, or possessions. God knows that some people have to work on Sunday but when you are able to then be in church and while you are not in church then study your bible at home, take notes and etc. get into the habit of making yourself better every day.

-What does it mean to have Christ in my heart?
When you have Christ in your heart then you know that Christ has come to live in your heart throughout your everyday life until his return. John 15:5 “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing”. When you have Christ in your heart then you will have come to the knowledge of the truth and thus leading to a new you with the way you think about things, what you say, what you do, you will be humbled and obedient to Christ. The only one you can become a Christian is if you have Christ in your heart which allows us to change on the inside. Notice that some people think they are saved by keeping the former way of things about themselves. i.e. without change, as I said before Christ cannot be in you when you are allowing the devil in your heart by keeping yourself in the same mindset. Growth starts when you allow God to come into your heart to change you.

-What does it mean to love Christ half-heartedly?
Again, we have to understand that we cannot have one foot in and one foot out and think we are saved. Christ has to be in your heart and change has to come about. Loving Christ half-heartedly is something that most people these days are. They do not know that living a sinful life and going to church is what this means. It’s known that they love Christ but do not want the change because the sin is too fun to be in so they keep staying in sin while they think that they are saved. In other words, they love God but also love the world but read this verse about loving the world. 1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them”. Some people have good intentions but do not know the truth or even want to know the truth and thus they are not saved and no they do not love God with all their heart because remember when you love God with your whole heart then you will live your life for Christ.

-How do I know that I am saved?
To finish up tonight we will get the answer from the most important question since last week which is, How do I know that I am saved? Being saved, to sum up, everything is accepting Christ in your heart, believing that God has sent his only son Jesus to die on the cross for your sin, to be baptized and be born again. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again (Of Water) and of the spirit of God he cannot see the kingdom of God.” (Water=Baptism, Spirit of God represents the holy ghost).

Next week will be part 20 already. Time flies when you are learning good information and having fun with it. To everyone who has read these posts up until now then I want to thank you and to those who are reading it for the first time then I want to thank you and encourage you to keep reading and growing in the word of God. Until next time Be Safe and Be Blessed everyone
