A Preacher’s Misconception
Topic: Living to please God
Sub-Topic: Basic Understanding
Tonight marks the 20th post on “A Preacher’s Misconception”, for everyone who is learning and taking heed to these teachings I want to sincerely thank you for support. As I grow in Christ I pray that you also continue to grow in Christ. There have been many topics that have been covered but there is much more to be discussed. Stay tuned to the future posts and teachings and you will be blessed. Remember do not be merely listeners of the Word but also doers of the word.
Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.
For the next couple of weeks, we will be learning about living a godly life and what exactly that looks like. I know many people think they are saved but have not come to any knowledge of realizing that you have to live right and its not by our own thoughts. You can think you are living right all you want to but if it does not line up with the word of God then you are wrong. I also want to point out that you have to be born again and that is the problem these days, people are professing Christ as their lord and savior but is denying the power of God to change them & I believe the reason is because they do not want to come to the realization that what they are in is not of God. In other words, they want the benefits in Christ that someone else has but has refused to go through the change that someone else has in order to truly receive those benefits. Stop claiming what is not yours if you have not yet been born again. Now to tonight’s scripture.
2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Alright, before we really get started next week into this topic I want to lay down the foundation. The foundation starts with understanding 2 Corinthians 5:17. Clearly, as I have just stated that when you are truly in Christ then you have to know that you are a new creation, this means mentally, physically, spiritually, and in every way. This should not be someone who claims the name of God as lord savior but yet never been born again. Many people say they are saved is misleading others but now I am shedding some light on it. When you become born again then you would begin to change and not stay the same. When you notice someone is still the same way as before like living in sin then know that they are not saved since they have not been born again. Anyone that is born again will get themselves lined up with the word of God. I have noticed this happening and it is bothersome because they are leading themselves to hell and not even know it and on top of that it is worse because when you go to help them people tend to go against the word of God that they believe in which is a pure contradiction. How can you be saved without becoming a new creation, without being born again? If you cannot understand or cannot answer this question then know that it is a contradiction that they are in. You believe what you believe instead of believing in what your God has said. If God told you in his word to get out of fornication then how many people would get out of it?…………..ZERO! The reason is that they are not born again. Your life with Christ starts when you are born again not when you say you believe in God, I will say it again, “YOUR LIFE WITH CHRIST BEGINS WHEN YOU ARE BORN AGAIN NOT WHEN YOU SAY YOU BELIEVE IN GOD”. God cannot be your God when you don’t understand his word, when you ignore his word, or when you stay the same.
But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Now that we understand how important being born again is let us take a look at just how important walking by the spirit is. When we are born again we come to a greater knowledge of the spiritual realm. To put it simply the spiritual realm is walking by gods commands. This definition is not and exact definition but I am using this way to show you something. Now as I have said when we are truly saved then we are to walk by the Spirit, not by the flesh. Many people get this confused thinking they are still saved but have yet to walk by the spirit. Walking by the Spirit is very important because without it then we have no guidance thus we begin to do whatever it is that we want without any direction. If you are not following by spiritual direction then you cannot be saved and again, IF YOU ARE NOT FOLLOWING BY SPIRITUAL DIRECTION THEN YOU CANNOT BE SAVED. This is an example of spiritual direction.
A married man has been getting hit on by a single woman, He can either respond to this by acting on it by having an affair or put her in her place.
His response to being able to walk in the spirit has to be, “What does the word of God say about this situation” If he is not understanding and seeking God on this matter then he is not leading himself down a good path. Understand that as I have said before we have the knowledge of right and wrong and our own free will. That is why the Bible says this about how to stay away from satisfying the gratification of the flesh. It says simply to walk by the spirit, if you walk by the spirit then you can stay away from sin. Amazing right? We have our own path to choose from its either do I want to please God who iIbelieve in and by this, I know that I have to walk by the spirit or do I want to please my flesh. Think about this, take some time to really think about this.
Until next time Be Safe and Be Blessed everyone.
