A Preacher’s Misconception
Topic: Living to please God
Sub-Topic: In-depth understanding of being born again
Last week we started laying out some groundwork into learning about living a godly life, this week we will continue to learn. We will be expanding on what it means and why it is so important for living a godly life. To everyone who has been reading and learning from my weekly posts then I want to say thank you and to those who are reading for the first time I want to say thank you and to everyone please continue to grow and mature in Christ as I also do.
Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen.
There are 3 stages that we need to understand about being born again which are death, burial, and resurrection. Tonight we will be going over these into a more intensive study of understanding this. Without further ado, let us take a look at the first one. If you do not have your bibles then please follow along and remember do not go by my word but by the word of the bible. I am telling and leading you right but you have to find these things for yourself, I can tell you all you want to but you have to be in god’s word for yourself.
#1 Repentance- which is a spiritual death, this is the way we take on his death. When a person truly repents he dies out to his own will, renounces it forever and vows to live from that time on according to the will of Jesus Christ.
When you were dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,
#2 Burial- #2 Baptism, we take on his burial by baptism in water, by immersion into his name.
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
#3 Ressurection- In the filling of the Holy Spirit, This is the new life that enables us to live as a Christian should by the filling of the holy ghost. Rising again= Receiving the holy ghost
And wit, that he breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit.
The spirit, water, and the blood all 3 agree in one, blood covers our sins, the water of baptism washes our sins away, which makes us clean for the spirit to come into our lives to dwell. Blood and water for the cleansing of the nations, it takes blood and water to eradicate sin. For blood is the cleansing agent and water is the flushing agent. You cannot be saved without the infilling of the holy spirit.
1 John 5:8
the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.
Tonight we learned more into what it means to be born again. To bring all of this together then you need to know that to be born again you must go through the 3 stages which are repentance, burial, and resurrection. When we are repentant then we have to have a pure heart meaning we have to leave everything at the alter. We cannot leave everything at the alter when we do not make changes in our life by getting into his word more, praying more, changing the music you listen to, people you hang around, places you go too. When you seriously ask for forgiveness then you will not go back into the same mess. Ressurection is important since it brings us into a new light is that we think to be like Christ which is what a Christian is. For our former selves have passed away and beheld a new has come. In order to truly be saved then you need to be born again. Remember if you are not born again then you are not a child of God. Thanks everyone for reading til next time Be Safe and Be Blessed.
