A Preacher’s Misconception
Topic: Living to please God
Tonight will be a message on “Music” and why it’s important to listen to the right type of music. I know many may think “It’s just music”, but the fact is that it’s not just music but it’s more than that. Next week we will learn why the music you listen to is more than just music. For tonight I want all people who are reading this post to know and come to the realization that you need to listen to the right music. More knowledge and Wisdom is headed your way.
Our Father, which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, The power, and the glory, For ever and ever. Amen. Let us take a look at two scriptures for tonight.
If you do not have your bible then please I suggest you follow along with me. Tonight’s message is coming from the book of Psalms.
I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live. 34 May my meditation be pleasing to him, as I rejoice in the Lord.
The one thing to understand is that the bible says to choose one or the other, God or Satan. You cannot serve two masters and you cannot be lukewarm. Now if you really have chosen God to be your lord and savior then understand that when it comes to the music you listen too then you are choosing your master. Why do I say that?. The reason is that music is influential and music dictates the worship of your chosen God. Ex. if you listen to Lil’Wayne then you know what he raps about which is sinful and those lyrics have no worship of Christ our Savior. These lyrics also promote hatred, killings, Fornication, Adultery and many others which are against God. Now, why would you listen to something that is against God? If anyone has an answer then I would love to hear it, Comment below. According to this scripture the music we listen to what we meditate on. It’s what we are into that can either drag us down or raise us up. Is your heart meditated on God?
Psalm 95:1-2 Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
Have these two scriptures say to worship and listen to worldly music or did it say to give thanks only to God, “The Rock of our salvation”? We are always in the presence of God, remember God is everywhere he is omnipresent and being so we must always keep a praise on our lips, our hearts and minds. It’s a good thing to keep God in your mind at all times not only because the Bible says so but because then we start seeing things differently, I never have seen things of this world clearer than this when I first gave up the worldly music. Keep praise and worship in your home and on your mind and watch things start getting clearer for you.
It’s important to listen to right music because music dictates our praise and worship to either God. As Christians, our praise is for God and God alone. There is no in between. If you have a house especially those with kids then know that you as the parent is responsible for bringing God in your home and keep the devil out. I am glad that for me it was something easy to give up. I do not and will never to that type of music and will never give the devil a foot hold in my home. As a man, I know it all starts with me. Thank you for reading and learning Until next time Be Safe and Be Blessed, everyone.
