“A Preacher’s Misconception”
Topic: Separating from the world
Sub-Topic: Your surroundings
Last week, we continued with renewing your mind. Tonight we are going ahead in a different direction. Thank you for reading and learning and as you read this post I pray that you continue to grow and mature in Christ, to help you become a better person in your everyday life, I pray that you look at things differently in life as a child of God. In the name of Jesus Amen.
After learning about what it means to renew your mind it’s important to now understand why it’s important to separate yourself from the world. In a sense, this does not mean go live on a farm without cable or a cell phone. In general become a part of the Amish. No. This simply means not getting involved in other things that deal with the world. In an example, you have to understand who you bring in your house. Do you not know that there are demons out and about. The devil is out here to kill and destroy. Let’s take a look at what scripture has to say about separating yourself from the world.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. This scripture is important and will be explained better in time but let’s take a look at more Scripture.
2 John 1:10-11 If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, for whoever greets him takes part in his wicked works. 2 Thessalonians 3:6 Now we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from any brother who is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us. 2 Timothy 3:5 Having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.
Tonight I will speak on 2 Timothy 3:5. This scripture is very important so let take a look at what this scripture is saying. This scripture is simply saying to do not have anything to do with people who deny Christ in other words if they are not edifying one another and speaking good things, or bringing in anything that is unclean into your household then do not permit it under any circumstances. In other words, DO NOT LET ANY DEMONIC SPIRIT INTO YOUR HOME. Have you noticed that many things happen in your household after such things happen, it’s not a coincidence?
This also proves it, let’s take a look at one last scripture Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. When you allow these sinful things into a place where God dwells you are allowing your enemy, the one who is trying to take you out of this world to come in and have its way. Why can’t anything go right in my household,? I am always getting put out my house and can’t seem to find a place where I can be stable for my family. Reasoning, You are letting demons into your household. Take a look also at those people who stay together not married. This is allowing demonic spirits to run free & don’t you know this leads to death.
To finish up for tonight the lesson is this be careful who you are around, who you bring in your home, who you associate with, and make sure you are lining up with the word of God. When you are lined up with the word of God then you are placing yourself and your family under god’s protection. Remember God will NEVER leave you NOR FORSAKE YOU. Be Safe & Be Blessed everyone until next time for part 5.
