“A Preacher’s Misconception”
Part 5

Topic: Separating from the world
Sub-Topic: Understanding the worldly system

Lord Jesus bless those who are reading this post and who learn and abide by your word God. I pray that all who read this post will take heed and learn these things to apply in our own lives to help us to grow and mature in your word. In Jesus name, we pray Amen.

Last week, I spoke on separating from the world. Tonight I want to go deeper into what this really means. I noticed some people who say they are saved, do not even know the word of God but still say they are saved and are still wrapped up in their minds of how they see the word of God and not for the word of God itself. Let’s first take a look at what it means to be separated from the word starting from definitions.

1. Word System: The world, in which the word of God does apply but only the lusts of the flesh and etc. The fulfillment of a system by which the world operates by its own desires and ways.
2. Worldliness: An attitude or desire to want to do or be apart of the world. In other words, nothing can get through your mind because you have a desire and a makeup of doing things that benefit your flesh and not God himself.
3.Separation from the World: An act of putting God first in everything you do, to not be conformed to the patterns of every earthly desire.

Lets now take a look at scripture, II Corinthians (6:17). “Let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God” (7:1). Thus the doctrine of separation is grounded in the holiness of God.

We all have our problems and issues with things in life since we live currently in this flesh body but understand that we have a choice to obey the flesh or obey God. We may not be perfect in the flesh but understand that since we are born again and saved we have allowed ourselves to begin making ourselves new and perfect in the eyesight of God. Here is a side note in the word of God it has not said that you did not have a choice since we are in this flesh. God has given us dominion over everything on this earth and that includes our flesh. God may give us our own free will but he tests us to see which path we will choose. We are in a battle with our flesh every day but are to die to sin every day. If you take a look at the scripture is says “let us cleanse ourselves”, that means we still have blemishes and spots on us but as we learn the word of God and apply the word of God every day. I tell you what it’s a good thing that we are under Gods grace and not the law lol. I will talk about the law and grace in the future.

Tonight’s post, in summary, was to acknowledge that we are separating ourselves from the world every day when we learn and apply the word of God to our lives. If you want to learn more about separating from the world or have any questions about this post or any past post then please message me. Thank you for reading and I hope you are learning as we go along this journey to learning about what being saved really is. Thanks again and be safe and be blessed, everyone.
