A Preacher’s Misconception
Topic: Living to please God,
Good or Bad 5
Tonight we will be going over “What is joy”. Joy does not only comes during a time of happiness. If you think this is what joy is, then think again. After tonight’s lesson, you will be amazed by what joy really is.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, As it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespasses against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine are the kingdom, The power, and the glory, for ever and ever, Amen.
Tonight I will be going over 3 points of joy. If you do not have your Bibles ready then I suggest you prepare yourself for a good lesson.
“You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.”
Joy comes when we are in the presence of God. In life we often times struggle with finding joy and happiness. One minute we are sad and the next we are happy, but joy can become ours when we are in the presence of God. We struggle to find joy and happiness because we look in the wrong places. Often times we turn to people, drugs, alcohol, and etc. to find the ultimate fulfillment of joy. On this first bulletin and Scripture, I want to let you know that your joy does not come from your natural fulfillment but it comes from your creator. It is not until we plug ourselves into our creator that we find joy and happiness.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
Whenever we go through our trials and tribulations, then we as humans, automatically think that we cannot find joy in the situation. I know I find it difficult to find joy through difficult times. It is not easy to be in a situation and smile through it, but after reading (James 1:2-3), it tells us why we should be joyous through our trials and tribulations. At this point, we can get a better depth and understanding of why it’s something that we should do. It is because even though we are going through them then we must also know that by going through them our faith will produce perseverance. We should always have joy in our difficult moments because God knows best, going through one difficult time can help us in the future to ensure others, and when we think about what God is doing in the situation then it makes you excited because God is turning your situation around to have it work for your good. God is awesome even in our times of difficulty.
The prospect of the righteous is joy, but the hopes of the wicked come to nothing.
Here we come to another verse about joy, but this verse tells us something a little different. This verse tells us that the righteous will have joy but the wicked will not. To put this into further context, when we pass from this earth, we often times hear at funerals that the person who passed will be with the Lor but this is a false claim. Often times people are scared to death because they do not know what is going to happen to them, while others do not worry about it since they believe they will be with God. There are many reasons what. what I want to get across to you is that God will bring life to you for those who live for him and to others their lives will end short of expectation. Why do you think we see young people dying every day and so quickly these days. Remember that sin=death (Romans 6:23). We, as children of God, do not have to worry about such things because we know what will occur and what to expect after this life.
This is a topic that can be extended and be explained in even more detail. In the future, you will be able to read an extended version to this lesson. Please continue to be on the look out for my website. Remember, we can have joy in such a lost and evil world. I love learning every week and I hope these lessons have helped you as much as they have helped me. To cover all 3 points I will summarize them. (1) We can only find joy in Jesus. (2) We can see the moments of joy through our trials and tribulations (3) We can find joy on this earth and in the after-life. No matter where you look we have joy all around us. If you ask me I think that is amazing. Next week will be going over longsuffering. Some of tonight’s lesson will spread into next weeks lesson. Until next time be safe and be blessed, everyone.
